Karen Oberg, OTR/L

Hi! My name is Karen Oberg. I have lived in the spirited town of Missoula, MT for the past 23 years. I grew up in Spokane, WA and went to school at Carroll College in the sweet little town of Helena, MT where I grew to love Montana. I met my husband of 25 years in Helena and became passionate about wanting to work and help people. We started a family in 2002 and have 2 growing and loving boys. Soon after, I moved to the west coast of Washington, became an occupational therapist at the University of Puget Sound and began integrating yoga into my school projects. My first yoga teacher was a sweet older woman, Eva who taught me that anyone can do yoga and it is my belief still.

As I continued my practice of yoga for my own health and spiritual growth, my path as an OT led me to working at Providence Medical Center and then in a chronic pain treatment center when I completed my initial training to become a yoga teacher and am now a certified yoga therapist. I started O Therapy Services in 2009 and became a co-owner of Integrated TherapyWorks for about 10 years. With successful growth, it was time for a new path to opening the doors to Aspen Grove Therapy and Wellness Center in 2020!

Yoga and occupational therapy has led me to work in many realms of life and to be able to connect with many people through mental health, pregnancy, chronic pain, breast cancer, children with special needs, homelessness, jail yoga, and teaching at an all-abilities yoga program. One of my favorite parts of the week has been our girls yoga group addressing anxiety, social skills and movement through yoga.

My education has also evolved into helping children with eating and feeding with training in the S.O.S approach to feeding and using a DIR Floortime/developmental approach to working with kids and coaching parents.

My philosophy of care: Healing is finding joy and contentment in the moment, finding peace with the ups and downs and realizing that we are all human and connected.
